Only bot to keep up with garrison clear on a few alts and to quest level a few chars. There was no 72 hr ban or anything. It just says account closed. is this typical? What do you guys advise I do? Also, Do they think i'm selling gold or is this a general message. I do use a vpn usually
They usually do not give 72 hour bans on US.. 72 hour bans is usually only in EU. Do you have a large amount of gold? I used to play an account legit and got banned many many times because I made so much gold AH flipping. I had to call them over and over again to remove the ban and they did every time.
I usually try to maintain anywhere between 200-400k Just in case there's a mount or pet I want to get. Otherwise i'm pretty stingy with my gold. It's the whole account closure" thing that got me worried. I've only ever had day bans for foul language in chat and people getting butt hurt about it.
It might be the gold then. Someone could also have reported you as being an "AH BOT". I think you have a pretty good chance of getting it back unless you were caught leveling alts with the bot.
Well, I opened a very gracious appeal, said I dont trade gold and asked if it was possible I got hit for using a vpn. They didn't answer any of my question but they did unlock my account. I honestly wish I knew. I'm too scared to use HB anymore after this. People always say you shouldn't bot on your main account but i'm not a gold seller. I just used it to try and keep up with the game since I dont have a lot of free time. (kids) I'm a careful botter but i've been doing off and on since Wotlk so I guess it's about time I stop.

Well I bot on my second main account (first got banned ^^) Without the bot I wouldnt play at all so if I get banned who cares, I wouldnt have achieved anything by manual playing =)

I only bot on my main account, don't have any others. If I get banned I'll just quit WoW and do something with my life instead. Got banned three times back in WotLK for botting, but I'm dirt poor so they wouldn't ban me for having too much gold or anything. The max I've ever had is like 26k gold
