StyxWoW.Overlay.Dispatcher.InvokeShutdown(); this fixes my fps problem as soon as I run this command my fps soots back up to 150+

 

Great fix guys!! now if you could only put an enable/disable toggle for the overlay into the settings & tools we'll all be happy!!! Great work tho at least it seems you've traced the problem.

On a side note/issue Enyo's pause key wouldn't work either in .765 but after running the above command in the console the pause key in Enyo also works again.

OK, I'm pretty sure I've found out the main cause of the FPS loss, I'm betting everyone with this issue either uses a game launcher like 'Razer Game Booster' or they tick 'Disable desktop composition' in the Compatibility tab on the wow game icon, as this disables windows aero (with aero enabled the screen is essentially drawn twice so to improve game performance on slower PC's its handy to turn aero off) and if this new overlay feature is based on anything like Nexos's overlay plugin it uses windows aero to do the overlay rendering. so having aero turned off will drastically decrease performance when there are any aero overlay calls.

@Daviid: Yep Aero is disabled for me. If i activate Aero then i have no FPS issue without using the Styx command. Thanks for taking time to share this with us

Starting with this release, I noticed HB has a second thread visible to windows task manager (breaking alt+tab behaviour).

I suspect this issue is known by developers, but please let me know if not. I'm happy to provide logs, short videos, or whatever you need.

 

the 'second thread' is the game overlay added in .765

 

oh now i know why ....i enabled my aero again and its works as you said .ty that was the issue on user side >.<

i desabled Aero in the past because i tought it well increase more performance etc so ty so much to let us know where the issue was

Incorrect. I'm on Windows 8 and I see a significant drop with HB running at to HB not running. HB @ stop I'm locked at the 30fps I set. HB @ Start condition, I'm running between 3 and 17fps. It also does it on a Windows 10 consumer preview laptop I have. Both devices are top end (i7 Gen 4 in Laptop, FX8130 AMD in Desktop, 16GB ram laptop, 24GB ram Desktop, 3GB nvidia m6xx series in laptop, 3GB R9 280x on desktop), and shouldn't be lagging.

Edit: I should also mention it still does it if I uncap my FPS. I'd be willing to bet there is too much stuff in a framelock in the overlay.

The overlay is still running when Honorbuddy is stopped.

Your observations verify your particular problem is not with the Overlay, but with a Botbase, Plugin, or Combat Routine you are running. If you need help isolating the problem, you should open a new thread in the Support forum with a log that demonstrates the issue.

It does it both ways. I took this screen shot while it peaked at the highest fps it hits with bot running. It dips as low as 3fps at times.



As you'll see as soon as the bot gets on a taxi the fps returns. Second it gets off it drops again. It makes even doing a LFR with the bot iffy. I die a lot from the fps drops lagging me out standing in fire.

I have NO Wow Addons loaded. There is nothing loaded that didn't come with the bot, and I've removed settings directory on multiple occasions.

With bot running my CPU usage is 12% and ram usage is almost 6GB used 24GB total (These are totals not used by the bot alone).

The bots been run from both SSD and traditional platter hard drives.

It didn't do it in 763 when I first came back from my break. 764 started it. 765 continues it.

I don' t even have any CC's or plugins in the directories with the bot except what came in the zip file.

It does it with multiple custom CC's as well. However if I play my priest by hand in raid with no bot I don't experience the lag/fps drop.

It does it on windows 8 and a FRESH windows 10 install.

Another person just chimed in from my friends list on skype with this problem. 2 x Windows 7 (With AERO/Desktop Composition on), and 2 x Windows 8.

 

ye wired it happens to me to kicks profiles fps drops constantly to low its verry laggy and then when running it comes back up it also does it with natfoth profile sometimes

 

I'm going to PM you. I don't want to call out a dev in public. There's a CC if I disable streaming for, not only does my bot load faster, my fps doesn't drop below 40.

Edit: Oh well you have PMs turned off. How do you want me to point this CC out?

Edit 2: It's not locking up for like 10 seconds when it tries to load a profile either.

Question: Why would it download something it's not even using? Seems like a waste of strain on the auth server (Which might I add hasn't disconnected me in 3 nights what ever you all or the data center did to fix it), and the store. Not to mention it causes problems like this. And I ask cause it's obviously NOT something on YOUR server causing a FPS drop on my system.

Edit 3: figured I'd come back and re screen shot it fixed. When I re-enable that CC I have issues again. But without it enabled

Would be great if you call out the CR in the public - just for the other people with the same problem.
Shouting out a Dev cause of Problems with his CR doesnt need to be a bad thing, you will probably help him - just for the fact that most of the devs want to know if their CR got any problems.

 

Im having some similar issues. I run the developer console command and it clears up my lag till I enter raid combat. So I went through and disabled all the routines and started to enable them one at a time. I lag when Im in raid combat no matter what Im running. I turned down my graphic settings, killed almost all of my processes windows is running in the background and turned off all my addons. I even reformatted and re installed windows and wow. Nothing seems to help. I use to be able to run wow with my graphics turned up to ultra and the bot with no lag. I humbly request an update push to get Highmaul LFR in the list of things for us to do. Heroic scripts would be nice as well, but are understandably lower priority that bugs. The last HB push was a week and a half ago and while I understand that it is preferred to push once a majority of publicly listed bugs have been resolved, but I'm not sure how much longer I can go seeing that Highmaul has been scripted and not be able to use it. Much love from Texas!
