Hey all, I'm curious what the community thoughts are on burst damage (or mitigation) with Combat Routines that they enjoy using. This is not really a question if you are using HB for full AFK. Do you prefer to simply bind a macro in game to a key for burst damage and deal with it manually? Do you prefer to bind a hotkey within HB for burst damage? or Do you prefer the bot/combat routine to figure out the best time to burst based on an array of logic and settings such as cast mechanics, health pools, surrounding enemy counts, etc.? Personally, I like to bind a macro as it helps me in times where I do not have access to HB plus if I feel that burst can be so situational and having that total control of high damage output feels better. However, it would be nice to hear from others what their preferences are, particularly while I'm deciding the direction of development for my own CRs. Thanks! Snow
for my Rogue i let it do it manually, with a few keys setup, just in case. i use Vitalics and Tuanha, so far Vitalics is the best i've tried! got me to 2300+
In my opinion burst damage is a pvp thing only, where it would be sensible to put in a hotkey to go nuts. In PvE you usually dont wait for specific windows, sometimes you may want to delay a cooldown for a bit but otherwise its best to have the routine do its thing with them.
PVP only is a good point, Kane. There's been situations in raids, though, where it would make sense to wait for lust/timewarp to sync up with burst damage - or wait until after a boss knocks/stuns everyone back or you might get stuck with your burst buffs to tick out while not doing anything. Just a few examples I can think of on the PVE side. Snow
