Hello. I recently got Back to the game after long time. I have only 1 million gil but I have all crafting and gathering classes to 50 except fishing. (I did that manually when first played the game :) ). I do have the green crafting sets that firstly introduced to the game HQ. Now I am looking to make some gil for my character..not to do that professionaly, I just want to make them for my char for luxury (buy things in game without worrying to get broke hehe).

What do you recommend to do? Should I just gather mats and sell?In that case, what sells the most? Crystals and Shards? Should I gather and then craft specific things? I heard there are 2-3 star items in game but I don't think I have the gear to make them..What would you do to make some gil?

I also play with my account, so I am thinking of putting 2-3 hours of boting for gil per day and I am looking the most efficient way to do this. Thanks

Only botting for a few hours a day on your main account won't net you tons of money, but most of your suggestions are going to be:

      1. Bot for tons of hours and sell Shards/Crystals/Clusters/Other well selling items
      2. Buy another account and bot 24/7 and sell those items.
      3. Craft high tier gear and play the market to make money.

If your looking to solely bot to make gil, your looking at option 1 or 2, though 2 will net you more gil quicker, I personally have more then a handful of bots running a combination of gathering profiles that I have made to do 2 things, 1 sell for profit, and 2 fill my mains retainers and inventory will mass stock piles so I never need anything.

Thanks a lot. I will consider running a second account for this. How do you suggest is the safer way to transfer gil and items from one account to the other? Free Company box or direct trade?

Nice :) did you also leveled a combat class too? Or it does not needed for gatherer? Also, what do you think will be the easiest class to level via grind/fatebot?

Since I don't care about if my bot accounts get slammed with a warning/ban I Have a combat class leveled to 15 and those main quests done so I can leave the city and roam free, then I have 50 miner and botanist on them, just used the 1-50 profiles then I make my own custom profiles for farming, Are far as getting your class to at least 15, just use the Official level 1-15 questing pack.

I have personally used Fate Bot to grind my mains combat classes up, 3-4 per 50, so not bad, and no one ever really bothers you.

I never slap busy icon on, and have no issues, I feel that doing that just screams that your a bot.

I don't use a busy signal either, and when I see others I feel it's pretty obvious.

Gathering is beyond boring if you do it legit, so I can't imagine any legit player being "so" focused on mining that they literally cannot be disturbed, lol. I would think most people would welcome a friendly conversation. Though you don't need to actively be there to reply.

with some of the plugins and combat routines offered by RB community. You can set your bot up to spiritbond when you go to bed and wake up with 1mil-5mil gil in materia.

This is best done with an alt character or better a second account.

While SE does conduct investigations, i highly believe they only actively pursuit bots directly related to RMT. And they heavily rely on player reports.

So having your main character be online 24/7 will attract attention from players. Where as having alt characters and rotating them out on a daily basis is much less suspicious. Again though a 2nd account is better as you can have it running 18 hours a day and have no fear

While this is somewhat true, you also have to take into account what kind of "track record" your accounts have, for my main its not uncommon for my account to be logged in for excess of 5 days, 10-18 hrs of those being played/botted since pretty much release of the game. Though if your a player that is only on 2-5 Hrs a day and go up to 16+ a day, thats gonna be a red flag.

Can you give some examples of what gear to spiritbond? I just returned to the game, so have no idea what is worth and what not..for example, does simple level 50 crafted gear give good amount of money?

Haha, well that's what I did until I found out about RebornBuddy. I was only playing about 10-15 minutes a day before getting bored. I eventually let my account lapse, and was about to write FFXIV off for good. RebornBuddy actually got me back into the game, and I figured if I got banned, then it was ok, because then maybe it was a sign that I should just quit. However, I've been botting almost nonstop for a little over a month. A lot of times the bot would actually break on me when I was at work or sleeping, and I could check it just chilling around. I'm surprised I don't get AFK booted. Maybe FFXIV doesn't do that.

As for making money, I've just been selling ores I get from the mining profile. I was worried that by crashing the market that it could put up some red flags, but so far I've tanked the price of electum ore from 200 per down to 40 per, and I've not recieved a warning. I'm by no means rich, but I've probably pulled about 4-5 million from selling electum ore. It's been more than enough to buy HQ gear for leveling characters. Since I don't play the game seriously enough for end-game gear, I was just going to hold off on buying top-quality gear, because the expansion is coming (soonish), and I would just replace that gear anyways. Right now I'm focusing on leveling all my classes.

Tank the price of something for long enough or hard enough and your bound to piss people off, 1 your loosing money yourself, don't be undercutting by 10 gil just to sell quicker, be that dick that undercuts for 1 gil, or even post at the same amount but in bigger stacks or put more stacks then that other guy. 2. If you piss enough people off by crashing markets they will find who you are and report you, which player reports tend to be the main reason why anyone gets banned. WoW and Arch Age are both great example of getting banned for fucking with the market lol, I myself have lost a few accounts this way.

Yeah FFXIV wont boot you for being AFK. When the game fist launched and it was impossible to login. People just left their computers on logged in, then came home and played.

Crazy enough they added the AFK timer...then took it away again....

Did you get banned on FFXIV or WoW/Arch Age? If it was FFXIV than I might strongly reconsider my method of making money, lol.

I lost a total of 12 accounts on WoW for crashing markets to make quick money, and Ive lost a solid 20 or so on ArcheAge but its higher there because its a Free To Play game, so I don't care if I loose those accounts since it costs me nothing but time. I haven't lost a FFXIV account to the market but thats because I don't use the market to make money, it requires to much actual player interaction to make good money, selling raw mats is small time gil profit compared to other things you can do. And if your gonna play the market or at least sell stuff on the market to make gil, take peoples suggestions and SB gear :)

Pick up Lisbeth+Agil, or if you don't have crafting and can't make your own gear, just grab Agil. If you can craft your gear you make more money and it goes faster.

Make a order for Lisbeth to make gear for what kind of materia you want, she will make it HQ(most of the time) which increases the rate of SB, go on the marketboard and pick up cheap grade 1 materia(any kind) and fill the 100% meld slots, each materia increases SB rate. And go to town, hope for some good grade 4 materia and make some good money. Agil is used to actually auto SB gear, it should be working correctly now since I last reported an issue with it to Neverdyne.

Personally, I had all my crafts maxed out loooooong before i started using RB at all.
And how I make money now is netting max shards on my retainers and myself, I'll buy 1 star materials, and then I'll bot the low level materials I need.
I'll bulk synth anything i need to, and then I'll make a TON of 2 star token items.
These get turned into artisan tools, then, desynthed into dozens upon dozens of mastercraft demimateria.

on my server, MC's still cost like 220k+
      I sold a stack recently.

Lots of good info here however there is one thing I cannot express enough. If you really want to fly under the radar, make your own profiles! There are lots of great tools that add UI elements to enable profile creation so there is no reason not to (although it is important to know how to do it the "old fashion way", as this gives you a better understanding of how things work). There are lots of safe places to farm throughout the lands and it will look less fishy than using public profiles (also I agree, no reason to set busy flag... lol I've seen some people using low-end bots that show them moving but with afk marked *facepalm*). I'm a very light botter (aka "some nights while I sleep") in terms of actions that might make gil but even if you are someone like me you can unlock a lot of fun features in the game that only come with higher levels + a good cache of gil/materia/etc. I like the game and just don't have a lot of time to play, which is what attracted me to RB, but it really is built for any type of user in mind. A friend used to run 4x copies of FFXII off of one PC at once back in the day; I never got into why he did it but on the main page kaga-kami has a setup method for running 2x instances at once if you want to be hardcore about it.

running many instances of the game + bots isnt to hard, I personally run 8 machines with 4 accounts each, and it works nicely :)
