Pertaining to "The Buddy Store" ... an "add to cart" feature would be appreciated for numerous purchases. The need to pay multiple times with Paypal and/or "other payment options" is tedious and somewhat annoying; a cart feature would assist in this for one "large" order instead of the existing "single purchase" method. Would you agree? Yes? No? Why, why not?
I'd say there are more important things to fix before we need the option to buy multiple things at once, like ratings. HOWEVER, from a business pov, you're request would make much more sense than adding ratings to crap addons/profiles(which sometimes sell because they have a nice icon and people are too lazy to refund/dont know how to refund), so you might be in luck. I do think that it would imply a boatload of coding to transform the store into an actual e-shop with a working shopping cart and everything and it might just be easier to migrate to an e-shop platform. This action would still require a lot of work and i dunno if it's going to go to the top of bossland's priorities list.
I understand your reasoning in both perspectives ... and I, too, agree to the "rating system"; however, the "support thread" attached to each marketed "product" does provide information into the use/ability/inability/shortcomings of each product via previous-buyers commentary; it just takes a little reading. Is it a priority? Not at all; is it a suggested "wistful" desire? Yes, yes, triple yes. I've gotten over it, as I still continue to purchase useful profiles that I am too lazy to create myself, despite the means to do so on my own, I only thought to acquire community opinion (thank you for yours)
Actually a company, more of a patent troll really, called Soverain owns a patent on the whole "Shopping Cart" thing when it comes to web sales and opens lawsuits against almost any company who uses the whole "shopping cart" mechanism of web sales. Sounds crazy and it is, but they been rather successful at winning lawsuits, including some against multi-million dollar companies, against companies using this feature. Luckily lately companies like NewEgg and a few others with extremely aggressive legal departments have been successful at defeating such claims in court. Now I'm not saying they would win against a company based in Germany where digital laws differ greatly than those in the US, but why set yourself up for the hassle if you don't need to?
I wont vote - Cause i havent made my mind 100% yet.. but first thing that pops to my head is "why" - why u need it? Add a cart feature is smart if u need something delivered so you get all items in same sending.. saving delivery costs. At HBStore, you buy a profile.. u rare go nuts and take 10 at the time.. atleast i dont.. i see uhhhh i want that, uh and that.. and then oh i better stop. Would add cart save u time? no. The only reason i can come up with is.. that it saves what u added to cart, so you can buy it the day after.
a wishlist would be nice too so i see something i want but no time to trial or maybe short of cash..so add to wish list
A wishlist is a great idea, as long as it's clean and receives proper criticism, not trolling and derailing.
