Is it possible that the laws protecting EU/Aus ect don't exist or aren't the same in the US?, I know allot of Consumer law in the past in US has been there to protect large corps and businesses more than the consumer and its the reverse in EU/Aus, Just a thought as the majority of bans seem to be US.

Also this "At times manual checks may be performed on your character to verify automated movement." in your letter from Blizz suggest they need human verification too ban, not saying this is 100% but it atleast suggests it, Also suggest these bans are more todo with Automated movement than anything else, Speculation ofc, but its how it looks.

Do they ever scan the wow folder itself? When I transferred the folder to my new desktop I put everything wow related in there, including HB and like an idiot forgot to take it back out.

I don't know much about US law, but the EU has some of the tightest consumer/privacy laws in the world.

They scan inside their own memory space, they used to scan outside it and was court ordered not to do so back in 2007/2008.

Scanning inside their _own_ access memory is perfectly fine, so many people here dont even know wtf they do and talk so much shit

It doesn't even fucking matter whether Blizzard is scanning RAM or not and what method is used for it. HB stuff's job is to make sure that HB is not detected and they do their job well enough. This whole discussion is therefore pointless.

Whenever you run the game, the game reserves X amount of ram, which slowly increases as it needs. This is their memory space, everything wow needs to run, runs inside of that, anything that injects WoW will also have content run inside of that. Honorbuddy runs code inside wows address space, they inject inside of it. Blizzard scans their own address spaces for traces of 3rd party software.

Even honorbuddy scans their own address space when you run it
Several buddystore products used to, or still scan outside of honorbuddy's access memory(this is what blizzard used to do and was court ordered not to)

Which is funny, cuz all the people here saying what blizzard is doing is wrong(which it isnt) are at the same time not complaining that honorbuddy is doing the same thing, ironic :)

Just rename honorbuddy.exe to something else, that ppl usually have like avg.exe , realtek_cpl.exe or whatever.

I find it funny that private WoW servers can easily prevent HB players from playing YET some of you 'experts' think Blizzard can't do the same.

Perhaps. But still doesn't disprove that HB is 100% undetectable. Thanks for commending :)

If and only if a company is obeying the law then yes it is undetectable this thread is about whether or not they are scanning your computer as they have done in previous years and got the crap scared out of them for invasion of privacy because they were scanning or task manager looking for honorbuddy exe

But on the flip side if they are not breaking the law then yes they can find 99% of users in about a half a second

OMG what does it matter? If they could just detect it none of you would be botting would you. So who cares about speculation, or this guy who knows that guy who once talked to a gm who said something?? Does it really f'ing matter at the end of the day? If you're so scared.. just stop botting.

      Gawd.

      I lol'ed at this thread.

Thanks for making my life 10+ years longer :)

Botting make you paranoid, paranoid doesn't make a good speculation. If blizzard were able to detect all of us, we would all be banned by now.

The things Warden currently looks for in-process includes but is not limited to:

      • Model edits.
      • Known cheat modules (DLLs)
      • Known modifications to game functions
      • Known cheating addons
      • Speedhacks
      • Known API hooks from cheats

The things Warden currently looks for out-of-process includes but is not limited to:

      • Known cheating drivers

Warden also has a protection module in it, which provides users security from malware, keyloggers, and rootkits which hide keyloggers. If Warden detects a known piece of malware active on the system, it will block the user from logging into the game, and will display a screen which directs them to Blizzard's support site for removal instructions.

On 23 June 2010 Blizzard updated the Warden Anti-Cheat Platform to version 2 - named Warden 2.0 - with World of Warcraft Patch 3.3.5.

Rumour has it, that Blizzard modified Warden prior to the release of World of Warcraft 6.2.

Botting its detected, 300+ of my banned account for years confirm that.
