Sry HB community, hate to be the bearer of possible bad news.

I logged into one of my accounts that was not banned and noticed that one by one my banned accounts (that i had on my friends list) being logged into and out. There were on for a short time, only thing i can think of is that GM are logging into banned (6 month suspension) accounts and running a script to delete all gold/item/guilds that are associated. Checked guild log in logs and friends logs and seems this started sometime yesterday and still going on today. Again, speculating that it is taking blizzard time to empty banned accounts of gold. They can ban en masse, but guess they need additional time to log in as GOD mode to do stuff like this. I remember a few years back when one of my accounts got hacked, the GM logged into my account to restore gold, item, etc. Now they doing the opposite.

Anyone else verify they can log into alt toons and look at friends roster or guild roster to verify banned accounts being logged into and out? Or last logged into 1 day ago, when it should be 2 days ago. If true, any speculation why blizz would be doing this, other than reasons stated above?

Opps, now they are logging into alt realms as well. Just saw another toon of mine that is currently banned log in just now, on a connected realm where i have some bank mule toons. Think they doing a purge. Sent a whisper, no response, just log off. What ever they are doing it doesnt take em long to do it. Logs out quick.

Of course they can log into your account and any character on the account. They don't need to do though. All their tools allow them to do things like this. A GM doesn't have to log into your account when doing an item restoration. They don't need to log into your account to do a deletion either.

Are you a GM ? How could you possibly know this...

There are many account features that still need a GM to log into your account... only 3 nights ago k was asked to log of my account so a GM could access it..

I dc right at the end of a mythic furnace kill, and missed the achievement.. and loot.

He was unable to assist with the loot, but he was able to log into my account and award me with my mythic achievement.

Other cases when items have been traded incorrectly via trade window, a GM has had to log into my account to resolve this..

To the op question, due to the number of accounts banned, imo I don't think any items or achievements will be removed..

Whilst I have no evidence, I don't belive blizzard had the capability to know what we where doing with hb, only that we where using it.

If they do know, well that changes everything.

      ^This.

You can't honestly believe they log on to some 100K accounts and manually run a script. Lol! Come on. After all, it's Blizzard and not some little rat-shop with semi professional coders.

      ^ This
      100k accounts * 5 characters * 2 minutes per character = 1 million minutes.
Salary for a GM roughly 33 euro cent a minute.
Cost to remove items from players: €330K

So, do you think blizzard would waste 330,000 euro to remove items this way?

I think some can delete things without being on your account but the others may need training to do it, I have had them remove items from my characters because of glitches and they had to send them in the mail to me, other times I have seen them sign on to my other characters while I was on the account on a different character (thought someone was hacking my account when I saw that, I cursed them out). I just think that if the GM is new they probably don't know all the controls/commands like the veteran GMs do so your service will vary. Due to the past few years of layoffs I would think that its hard to find a veteran GM now.

IF blizzard could earn more by doing it why not?

      TINFOIL HAT ON

After the banwave happened the price of WoWtokens didnt move at all.
I would expect it to drop drasticly because I assume boters were buying most of the tokens.
      So....
      Demand for tokens went down
Price of WoW tokens remains aproximately the same or slightly higher than usual
Someone claims he has seen GM logging his banned account

My personal theory is that blizzard is ''Buying'' WoW tokens with gold from the perma banned accounts.
Price stays high so people are motivated to buy more of them for real money.
GMs remove the gold on perma banned accounts and add it up to their ''token buying fund''.
      Blizzard earns money from tokens.
Economy doesnt get screwed up if blizzard decided to directly sell gold for cash - the gold removed from botters was already in game.

      Just a tinfoil hat theory.

When I started Honorbuddy, I listened to all you pros an advice... I thought of this happenning an took precautions months ago, my HOARD is scattered on RL friends toons, alt accounts, an legit places... Even if they sink a few cargo trucks, the main convoy will still reach home, in 6 months hehe!!!

You can copy your banned chars to ptr and check if something changed. aka gold gone or items.

Or simply log in the battle.net remote AH module, which for EU is here:

      https://eu.battle.net/wow/en/vault/character/auction/

And check what gold or items, eligible for AH you have in the characters.

Of course you cannot do single action on the Remote AH, since the penalty!

People don't seem to understand that all your character really is is a bunch of 1's and 0's stored in a database. That database part is important...

As it's been pointed out, Blizzard and every other company can access their database without needing to login to the game itself to take action on things.

And I know this, Thecamel, because I'm smarter than you and have a shit load more experience in database management than you do.
