Math of course. Gradeschool math even. Don't be naive, or swing. It's unbecoming

Just to help you out 200k CURRENT users x 15 = 3 million assuming eberyone had ONE bot. (We will just ignore past users and profits) Most run like an average of 3-5 so atleast triple that.

Now add in the store of which they got 40% of every sale. That they made even more off, dramatically more. I won't even try to touch the math there.

Now add in the other games/bots they run.

Yea... They're a multi million dollar operation. You spoke too soon apparently. I do that once in awhile and correct myself after removing my foot usually.

Nah this will not hurt blizz at all, you know why? Because you guys are just going to buy wow + wod again, in fact they make quite a nice profit off you when you repurchase the game, more than they would have made if they had not banned you. If you really want blizz to hurt from this then you should quit playing wow for good and stop giving them your money.

Not sure that many HB'ers will buy another sub...For me, I never bottled until about 4 months ago, and all I ever did with the Bot was to automate casting in raids.

Never used it to PvP. I can definitely see where using the Bot in PvP will cause non-botters to hate them, it really is an unfair advantage to bot in PvP.

BUT, for me, a 10 yr subscriber, botting made raids fun again. With the combat routines, I could pay full attention to the encounter mechanics, while knowing that if I had my CR set up well, then I would perform well.

I have NO interest in playing WoW without a bot. It is far more fun with the CR automation. If Blizz had half a brain, and I am not sure that they do, then they would BUY Bossland, and they would use them to develop a combat routine to use inside WoW. Make the routine PvE only, and then WoW PvE becomes much more interesting and fun. Tweaking the CR on a fight by fight basis would provide for some of the competitive differences between players , while of course, the encounter mechanics would provide further differentiation in player performance.

And to further my suggestion that Blizz buy Bossland, they could allow players to opt in to whichever system they prefer. Allow the existence of non-CR assisted realms/battlegroups, so that the "purists" can still punch buttons madly by hand, along with other players who do the same, and they would not be in the same raids with CR assisted players. Also, then allow the existence of the CR assisted realms/battlegroups. Let the players vote with their feet so to speak. I would bet that the CR assisted realms would be far more popular. Furthermore, it would be quite easy for them to tune encounter mechanics to even the difficulty between CR assisted raids, and "purist" raids.

Alot of casuals are buying new accounts but will get bored again quick. They used HB to remove the bordem of WoW, but I guess they wont come back now since its a garbage game without a bot.

People said the same when the PQR banwave came and look, they still have a lot of subscribers, sure they will lose some money but meh they are just doing their job.

I agree, I think they're shooting themselves in the foot. I raided with 2 guilds, and 1 cross realm raid group. I was a Main tank in 2 of them and DPS/OT in another. One team was 30 players, the other 2 were mythic teams and I have had reports that more than half of each raid team called it quits and are going to let their subscriptions die out because of me being gone.

I never used Honorbuddy to crush economies, I used it to ease my raiding requirements and now Blizzard shot themselves in the foot.

Also I'm sure if many people saw the dps sims that blizzard projected for T18 right now there'd be even more unsubscribers : Gyazo - 99a00a1e3ddc8a00f128676995764806.png (Leaked from a friend who has access to Blizzard Developer forums.)

He said they don't release it to the public cause they know that people would be in an outrage. Anyway back on the point, I'd be surprised if they didn't lose twice as many people as they banned.

Yeh... I'm sorry for the players, but HB might get extra 2 million new users! This shit went absolutely viral. So it's good for blizzard economy because addicts are usually stable subs, and ye HB deserves some more money!!!

ya'll fellas be trippin.. seriously. the amount of players botting in WoW is so small compared to the big, non-botting customer base, it's not a big deal at all for blizzard. do you really think they would do something like this without calculating the financial impact it would have? no, they wouldn't. they know that they lose subscribers with this, but it's not that big of a deal as ya'll make it look.

This has nothing to do with the massbanning of bots though. The decline you are describing would've happened with or without honorbuddy present.

Same here. My sister who just started playing WoW at the end of MoP cancelled her sub yesterday. She only played with me. I feel terrible, but she always knew I was doing something "forbidden", so whatever. She's happy to try out ESO now, lol.

Overall I feel like Blizzard is going to lose some non-botters on top of the banwave, because of the results of the banwave. Which is hilarious. Thumbs up.

A few raiders of one of my guilds (non-botters) already announced to quit, because our raidleader and 2 healers were banned. They told me the game "isn't worth the long search for good raiders to replace them anymore".

The thing is, this banwave happened at the worst time ever. The game is in a terrible state, people are leaving like crazy since January. Hardly anyone is enjoying the game anymore. Banned botters won't come back unless the bot is back, and I even believe that lots of us will never return, not even with HB back up, because let's be honest.. WoW is no more unless you still are terribly addicted. But those are becoming less and less.

And there will be close to zero people coming back because they heard "the bad boys are gone". It's too late. No one who already quit the game cares for that anymore. The game today has way bigger problems than botters. Imagine this banwave 3 or 4 years earlier - that would have been a time where people still cared, where people still enjoyed the game and would have returned if they heard the botters were gone. That would have been a time where I would have created a new account and would probably have considered to play manually. But today? Jesus Christ Blizzard, you have like one Million problems with WoW, especially since the latest expansion - but botters definitely ain't one. And nothing, literally nothing will get better now that the botters are gone. It might get even worse.

I'm very excited to see how this is going to evolve throughout the next weeks and months. But I'm very sure it's not going to end somewhere good.

Pretty sure the next big thing we will see in WoW is the game going free to play. Which would basically be the biggest admission of WoW steering to a slow and painful end.

Tbh i totally agree with you, botting made wow fun again, and with Blizzard losing millions of subscribers since Jan, I will be watching where WoW ends up, I know many people whpo play by hand that have quit because of the state of the game.
