Hopefully I dont cause anything by doing this but if they get people to think they are down for good the quicker they can fix it and it can be lowkey to trick Blizz. Just thinking out-loud here.

what mostly worries me is that this community is so open. we are getting linked and Quoted on the World of Warcraft forums, other websites spouting bull***t that its all over having no idea what there talking about and what not. users can just register and come spout there nonsense here.
basicly everyone can just come here and take screenshots and god know what else. a little privacy is appreciated.

Perhaps restricting access to parts of the forum to anyone that hasn't purchased any buddy products would be beneficial.

one of the reasons hb doesnt give ETAs on their product is so they can focus on work. your statement has some validity, otherwise every asshole with a few skills would be offering their help.

I totaly agree with Sevrep on this one. I worked with plenty of Vbulletin boards myself and there are just so many settings that can make this not only much safer but also much more stable and organized forum. im not telling you how to run your forum that is not my place but im just putting it out here. I just feel like its all to out in the open.

anyway, my best of luck on Honorbuddy.

this has been discussed in a few threads in the last couple days.

bossland has stated in no uncertain terms 'honorbuddy forums will stay open to the public'

bossland gets a percentage of their business from people who stumble in on the suggestion that honorbuddy can do this or that. they are able to read the forums to analyze the state of success or failure, availability of public profiles, and a general feel for the community.

privatizing the forums will not stop anyone from entering when access can be obtained for the low low price of 25usd. and its not even 25usd if you offer access to the forums when a 3 day trial is purchased.

sure, you stop a few nutjobs but it won't stop anyone willing to spend a couple bucks.

but since bossland has ruled on the subject, further discussion is a waste of time.

I guess I can stand behind the idea of a open forum like this for all the reasons mentioned. thank you for taking the time to respond to this thread. its just with all the craziness going on right now there seem to be allot of people trying to take advantage of the situation and doing more damage then good.
