i can think of a couple possible culprits. stick with me here.

1 curse update, looking for the blizz folder you keep you addons in
2 raptr update, to 'optimize your gaming experience' its a ccc video driver related software
3 XXXX similar to raptr, but this one optimizes your nvidia gaming experience.--only had nvidia for a week before going back to radeon
4 steam scans for existing games all the damn time. i downloaded it for csgo and never used it
5 im sure razor has some pretty invasive software
6 logitech searches for installed games to load default gaming profiles to their gaming driver software. if you dont logitech, you should try it. macro buttons are nice
this is just a small list of what i have personally experienced in the 'scanning for installed games' area

i wonder what method these games use to search. probably 'search for folder/file name' rather than ram and processes.

Just to clear some things up, I am Brazilian and the talk I had with the GM was in Portuguese. English is not my main language, my translation can be bad, the mentioned part "Lets cut the bullshit" was in Portuguese "Vamos direto ao ponto" if someone has a better translation, please, be my guest.
The GM could be just lying to me, also forgot to note one phrase he said to me: "While is true that not everyone with this setup is a botter, every botter need a setup like this to run."

Look, "vamos direto ao ponto" shall we? Admit that you are lying/trolling and this conversation never happened. The ridiculous nonsense about vcredist alone makes this obvious.

It sounds like they installed it and try to use the obvious to make it sound like they can see these things when they really cant. They are throwing false information out there to keep their advantage but I honestly wouldn't be surprised if they over-stepped their boundries and scanned things they aren't suppose to.

With a big Blizzard logo saying scanning for Blizzard games, I don't see how this is related to curse or other companies such as razer, I really wish I had a photo of it now but basically I accepted some writing without reading, followed by a small mini patch then a Blizzard logo scanning supposedly for Blizzard games I was able to click out of it as I did not trust this, while I was also concerned about the fact my authentication would not authenticate properly I had to disable this to gain access to my account, when I logged in my settings had changed to 64 bit from 32 bit, I strongly believe a GM was trying all methods to look into my account, this was all abnormal behavior, I might be wrong but come on why would they need to look for Blizzard games a day before these bans, why would my settings change from 32 bit to 64 bit this never happens. The games are already linked to my client ffs lol? they had no reason to scan for games I aborted it and was still able to play wow fine? then why search for shit that's not even needed? that is what I would like to know.

To the swingers. Yes obviously concocted and yes much of it is crap. But some of his arguements are very solid and while not proof they're major indicators that blizzard CAN see. Your denial is evidence of immaturity and sheepism.

This does fall in bosslands lap. We counted on them to protect us and they failed. With that said - we all chose to bot in the first place. We paid them not the other way around.

People should try being a bit more objective, works wonders. Can even help hide lack of common sense.

Ultimately it worked for so long everyone got complacent, the buddy team with innovation and keeping current for profit reasons no doubt, and ourselves for forgetting this was always a possibility.

No gm whatsoever will give you this information - not in a million years.

The OP is most likely bullshitting and trolling. Though I replied above in a more serious manner it was more pointing out how ridiculous he was being and even if a GM DID say that stuff its all circumstantial evidence, sure those are factors but they aren't deciding factors for the ban.

This doesn't fall in Bossland's lap at all, they did their best to protect our accounts yes, but there is ALWAYS a risk of getting banned for botting and there is no avoiding that fact. You chose to bot and Blizzard eventually detected it, simple as that. If you didn't want to get banned you shouldn't have botted at all! It's never an if you will get banned with bots and botting, its ALWAYS a when, no matter how much effort Bossland puts in to avoiding detection there is ALWAYS going to be a point (Like this banwave) where it will be detected. Blaming or as you put it "letting this fall in Bossland's lap" is a complete cop out.

Blame Bossland if it makes you feel better. Or God. Or the Devil. Whatever you want, if it makes you feel better. No one forced any of us to bot, and we knew the risks. If you really thought HB would never get caught, you are a fool. All hacks/bots get detected eventually, its the nature of the game. No one to blame but ourselves, and I (personally) am okay with that.
