Hey buddy's so I was hit with the 6 month ban so I bought a battle chest for a fiver just to kill a bit of spare time. Shortly after I sent a raf to my other email account so my 8 year old son could mess about creating characters on a trial account, 2 days later he has created a handful of characters and played a little getting a character to lvl 9.
Today he gets disconnected and I receive an email saying his trial account is banned due to abuse of the economy? Saying it was trading in gold/items.I presume my battle net is flagged and they want to be arseholes.
I have appealed it n I will let you know what they say.
Ps I have not used bots or anything since my main account was banned.

      Grasping at money.

Did you reinstall or change computers from the one you got banned on?

Doesn't matter, They treat each account as separate.

I got a reply within 20 minutes saying
We wanted to let you know that the restoration you requested for your Battle.net account, xxx xxx xxxx, is now complete. Your account should be back to normal - please log in and let us know if you run into any further problems.

      During our investigation, we:
      * Reset your Battle.net account password
      * Restored your World of Warcraft characters. For details about each character, please log in and check their in-game mail

If you have trouble adding RealID friends after this compromise, the RealID feature may have been disabled on your account. To check whether RealID is enabled, visit your Communication Preferences page (https://battle.net/account/management/settings/change-communication.html).

You should now take some time to ensure the security of your computer, your Battle.net account, and your email address, as you are responsible for preventing future compromises. For helpful tips, visit our security checklist (http://us.battle.net/security/).

If you do not yet have one, we recommend that you attach a Battle.net authenticator to your account and back it up with SMS Protect for maximum protection. For more information, see the Battle.net Authenticator page*

They have deleted the account in question now.

Battle.net scares me. I wouldnt doubt they used that to find people. It randomly asks me if it can run something on my hard drive every now and then. I think it asks for permission for something and I just hit no.

I've seen elements in a couple of GM responses that indicate that they are aware of a PLAYER'S botting history, even if the policy is to treat the account as separate cases. Kreton having the account restored is proof that this awareness can lead to overreactions, possibly factoring in that knowledge.

I bought gold a bazillion years ago, before I had HB and I received a one week suspension. When I contacted a GM, I asked by they had skipped the 72 hour suspension step, being that it was my first offense. The GM agreed and changed it to a 72 hour instead.

Not true. I haven't botted on my main since some time last year when my alt on VMware was banned. I wiped the registry, msinfo32, and deleted the errors and logs inside the WoW folder. My alt account was botting when the ban hammer came down. 30 minutes later my main got hit also. Same computer and IP no VMware this time. Windows log files AKA msinfo32 was loaded with errors from HB though. My registry had blizzard errors. I'm assuming they saw those when they scanned my computer and banned all active accounts. Otherwise why did they ban my non botted on account? Oh and my new account hasn't been banned yet and I wipe everything before I load up the game.

The story continues lol so after my son finished I popped onto the new account I'd created with the battle chest to find 6 of my characters missing again a support ticket sent in and a reply within 10 minutes with all the characters back I think there taking the piss.
I raised a new ticket with my concern that my old account could of had characters deleted but I was unable to check due to a ban. I went on to ask if my account is flagged and this behaviour will continue if so please fwd me a copy of all my personal information they own and then delete my account and all details they have stored . Awaiting a new reply.

Ah well after a couple more snotty instant ticket replys from different Gms that clearly never read the previous tickets I lost my cool and told them I want my full account deleted and all the information Blizzard have for me. I sent photo ID in the lot so this should be the end of the matter.
Thank you to the Honorbuddy community for the fun while it lasted.

Man same thing happened to me. I created a new 5man team and got them up then used them to RaF level an account I was going to call my main until the suspension was over. All 6 accounts plus 4 more old ones were banned for abuse of ecomony as well as my main that was on suspension.

I can't even get through to support. I make a ticket and they instant (well within 4 minutes) respond with an automatic message. I message again and within 4 minutes get another automatic message and then they close the ticket. I create a new on and it is instantly cancled. I talk to someone through live support and they're fine then say brb and come back to only give the same automatic messages. Accounts that weren't even botted on were banned, accounts not used for over a year were banned, accounts that only had a character created and logged into the game once without even moving him was banned. Seems like they took my IP and just said whichever account has ever connected to their system they banned. I don't understand what happened.

This all happened at the same moment I was unable to connect to HB authenticating server/ buddystore. Tinfoil hat is strong, but think they may be watching connections somehow.
