Has anyone been banned using ONLY combat assist?

Ok, so I only ever use honorbuddy for rotation and combat assist (PvE only) as I have certain disabilities that make it virtually impossible to play otherwise.

I did not get caught in the recent ban wave, but I've been steering clear ever since.

So my question is this: Has anyone been banned that are only using the rotation assistance, like me?

 

I think it's pretty safe. Used dungeonbuddy for 2 days full AFK as well as questing from 90 to 100.

Not banned before and still not banned now.

Most certainly- the ban wave did not take any factor into what you where doing with HB- They just knew you used it.. Hence we know HB "WAS" detected..

The bot appears to be safe again (or blizzard are happy with there stance, and feel they no longer need to ban anymore players).. However there is just as much chance tomorrow your account could be banned tomorrow for using rotation only. So never bot on an account you cant bare to loose.

 

Thecamel is spot on, if they detected HB then it doesn't matter what you where using it for. That being said I have leveled 2 toons from 90-100, run dungeons and LFR, and used ENYO since the banwave with no problems thus far. But as everyone including the devs have said 14mill times don't bot on an account you can't bare to lose, in which case you shouldn't need to ask these quesions.

With respect to the OP and his condition.. Blizzard couldn't give a *(*& you could be war veteral that lost both his arms.. If you bot (including CR) and blizzard find out- they will ban you..

 

I disagree with your notion that Blizzard couldn't give a fuck. I am sure they are compassionate people and could empathise with the situation, but they could not make an exception because that's a kind of pandora's box that can never be closed once opened.

Add to that they would need to verify every single case by case and verify of all these 'I'm disabled/war vet' scenarios that can be dreamed up, spending hundreds of resources doing so in the process, just so a few individuals who legitimately need assistance can play the game alongside others.

Then there's the point of, if you with your legitimised assistance, what if you start beating everyone else for dps? That wont fly for those who are losing.

So I disagree with the statement, but agree with the notion that Blizzard will never under any circumstances allow for automated play, regardless of the reason.

 

I totally understand and if that is the case then he will have to take the risk. No one here including the devs will ever be able to give you a difinitive answer and what is able to be deceted and how because no one knows. If you have no other choice then you have to run the gauntlet, anyone that tells you they know what things get you banned and how is lying. Best of luck

 

I only used the autoangler (never was afk while doing it, and never for more than an hour) very rarely for raidbufffood fish and enyo (+ routine) for 2 raids per week and got banned for 6 months. never automated running on my account or afk botting. never used bgbuddy or any other botbase.

I only use combat assist, and I did get banned in the recent wave. I too have a disability that would make it nearly impossible to play otherwise. Glad to hear there are some that didn't get caught though.
