Hi there, not sure this is correct location for this thread but, the question I have is, is there any ETA on DX11 support? I tried searching and some people have made it work with DX11 it says. So I wonder if there is some sort of unofficial "workaround" for this? I am on Windows 10 aswell

They would have to rewrite the entire bot, so probably not going to happen for a very very long time, if ever.

^ This. It would have to be re-written in 64-bit, iirc.

And let this show just how forward thinking RB is.
It's been this way since day 1. Also why prominent developers have offered their products off site.

A lot of those posts were deleted, during a server reset. Promptly after the reset their were posts, stating to stop posting about DX11 support.

Well thank you all for your reply. All I could find is someone claiming to have been able to use DX11 mode on windows 10 after downgrading from DX12. But I have found no such way of doing that =p
But I have my answers and can lock/delete this now :)

Currently, you can configure ffxiv to use a version less than DX11. On the ffxiv boot screen (the one you log in on), there is a Config button at the bottom. Click that, and you will see an option to select the DX version the game uses. This will allow you to use RB with ffxiv on windows 10, which has DX12 installed by default.

But it would be nice if the devs could address the 64-bit issue. At some point, I suspect this option will evaporate, since DX10 is now 2 versions behind current.

With the popularity of Heavensward I figured the Dev's would be all over this to bring more business. It's too bad Reborn could of expanded but isn't getting the love it needs. I'd donate if the Devs would create a DX11 version.

welp, wont be using this anytime soon then.

SLI finally works properly in ffxiv using surround. Only w/ the dx11 client however. Thats more important to me than this bot. Time to talk to bossland and let him know that x86 went the way of the dinosaur back in.. what was it 2002? 13 years ago?

It makes bannings easy peasy for blizzard and if SE ever decides to give a shit, its going to be a big fat flag for them too.

anyways, no point blowing steam. Perhaps ill run this on my crappy laptop in the future.

I had a nice writeup when it was first announced but it was lost during a rollback.

Still have a portion of it which has the important bits.

The issue is that the directx 11 client is 64bit.

Reverse engineering 64-bit binaries is A LOT more difficult then x86 due to a ton of different reasons: The quality of the tools for reverse engineering is poorer (IDA just recently improved their decompiler but it still isn't nearly as good as the x86 version.), our memory library doesn't support calling remote functions in x64 so each function call would require handwritten assembly and we use something like 120 different function so that alone would be crazy, and I don't have any experience with x64 reverse engineering.

Right now there are two versions of the game and very soon there will be a third version. Supporting three versions of the game will require enough work as it is, supporting x64 would mean supporting 6 different versions of the game and that just isn't going to happen.

I was personally excited as well for dx11 but once I saw that it was a 64bit binary it was out of the question.
