I can not help but think a large number of support questions would be avoided by better feedback from the bot. For example on patch days just a box (like the notification boxes that pop up asking you to pick a combat routine) that pops up and says "There has been a patch. HB will not work until we fix it. We are working on it. Check support forum for update." Simple direct and to the point. It would prevent all those "I can't log on", "HB keeps crashing", "Is HB working with the new patch yet?" type questions.

it basically does do that, if there is a patch it will tell you this current version of honorbuddy will not work with the version of wow you are running.

      The error is displayed:

"This Honorbuddy version only supports WoW Patch 20490 and you are on WoW Patch 20574.Please go to http:www.buddyforum.com/releases/ to check for updates."

is it normal because Patchday ?

yes, its normal. see how the version it supports is a lower number then the wow version your running? that means you need a new version of honorbuddy and since there is not a new one yet. then you need to wait for one to be released.

Ok then maybe a replace the newsletter subscription box with a huge banner that says "Yes We Know It Does Not Work. We Are Working On It!"

Ok, so bare with me a bit here.

Honorbuddy is a hacker's tool. A great one, to give credit where it's due. Great enough that non-hackers, aka layman's people, can use it with a tad bit of fiddling around. Not super user friendly, but user friendly enough that your average joe can figure out how to make it go.

CodenameG and Tony, much respect to both of you, but it's not really that clear. It's.. giving out too many details.

"This Honorbuddy version only supports WoW Patch 20490 and you are on WoW Patch 20574. Please go to http:www.buddyforum.com/releases/ to check for updates."

Patch Build numbers doesn't help the average joe. It helps the hackers. 20490 means absolutely nothing to joe. Joe might vaguely know the current patch is patch 6.2.. but build numbers are a bunch of mumbojump to him. I know wow displays it as "6.2.2.20574" on the launcher - but honorbuddy doesn't start wow from the launcher. That's even assuming joe could discern that "wow patch 20574" means "6.2.2.20574"

not to mention that "http://buddyforum.com/releases/" brings up a 404 page...

      I have two suggestions:

Change the text to something along the lines of "Honorbuddy does not support your current version of WoW (Patch 6.2.2.20574). World of Warcraft may have recently updated. You can learn more about this and check for updates at: http//www.buddyform.com/releases/"

and then, at a working version of the url.. throw up a static page with a few FAQs.

"Honorbuddy says it doesn't support my current version of WoW, what does this mean?"
Whenever Blizzard releases a new patch for WoW, honorbuddy has to be tested and checked that it works with the new patch. This process can take several days, which is unfortunate but unavoidable. You can check to see if a new version of honorbuddy has been released here. (https://www.thebuddyforum.com/releases/)

As your product becomes more available, you have to start accommodating the lowest common denominator. That means producing things for your average joe.

UX (user experience) is a passion of mine.

i cant believe it, on every patch day you do 2 things:

      - suggest retarded idea's
      - QQ that the bot is down!

You must have some sad lives.

lvl'd 5 lvls allr with gnomesequencer.

stop crying, it will be ready when ready.

While I understand it does get old to see all the threads about patch day. What's with the hostility? Some people could be new to Honorbuddy and have no idea why it's not working. Calm down man.

its not about calming down, it indeed gets old. And when u buy something, you read here and there, no?

So u know what happens on a patch day.

If something should be implemented then it is a total lock down of the forum on patch day.

      what previouslyxv said

"pretty clear" is not clear enough. it has to be clear enough that someone with barely two functional brain cells can immediately understand it. the problem with the message is that firstly it shows in the HB log in a small font, average noob doesn't read HB log they just see HB is broken for them. It needs to pop up a separate dialog that cannot be missed or hidden without a user interaction (i.e. closing the dialog), and secondly it must not give the impression that there is something to be done on the part of average noob, they don't *need* to go to buddyforum to check for updates since it will auto update when the update has been made, this should be stated as well I think. Something like "Honorbuddy needs to updated for the latest version of the game, your Honorbuddy will be automatically updated as soon as it is ready - (OK button)".

Well what do you expect when people pay for a product that's supposed to work? It doesn't say that it will or can be unavailable when you purchase the program.
No need to be rude and call people retards.

He is right when you buy this bot no where does it state that on patch days you should expect to be down for days no matter how small the patch is. Their are new people that come to this bot every day and some new people don't know how to navigate the forum so calm down if you don't have anything productive to say please be quiet

The warning is clear as fuck. The product works 99% of the time with the exception of patch days. People just need to take the time to read the three lines of text in front of their face to learn what is going on. I seriously don't understand how they could be more clear about this.

I have no problem with it being how it is now. But sure, non-English speakers might find it hard.

I see nothing negative in doing it like this:

      Do you?

Lol! How pathetic of a keyboard warrior are you? It was a suggestion, but you have to search up threads on a bot forum to find people to bash while getting some e-confidence in your miserable life. He didn't ask for your input. He asked for the devs. Wannabe old school cool guy. Jesus christ.

Also; learn how to not spell like the insult you are using.

It takes time considering this is a very large game and always adding new SECURITY FEATURES to try and stop us , sit back go in game "yourself" start clearing junk , study your toons, learn to do some things on your own for times like this ffs , try to play it yourself for a few will only kill your TOON not YOU ! lol
