Best class for GB2 (Twlight Highlands / Uldum)

8 hrs in Twilight Highlands...Zero Deaths......Ret Pally FTW...

My gear is sick...best the AH can sell...2 359 trinkets, tons of purple crap...a few blues...

 

I'm using a ret pally that just hit 85 in pre-85 blues/greens and he can farm in all zones without many issues.

However, I do wish that I had a druid for herbing instead.. if it works well with GB/2 it would mean that I wouldn't ever have to mount/dismount or get interrupted by a stupid crocodile in Uldum

QUESTION TO DRUIDS USING GB/2: Does it automatically dump aggro when herbing, or will it switch out of flight form to fight aggro mobs?

 

I use a feral druid and it always dismounts me from my mount. I've tried using my swift flight form but it doesn't work for me. Instead of allowing me to gather while in flight form, it will just stay in swift flight form for over 8 seconds and then dismounts to gather. I have just tried GB2 as suggested and can't get my druid to use a mount of any sort.

 

Level 83 Frost Mage with Amplify CC. No deaths for 8 hours, farming whiptail river.

80 Cata greens. I should upgrade.

 

Most of my farmers are Death Knights and they work out pretty well. Geared them with BoE AH Stuff and with some Archy Epics i got while leveling 60-85 using ArchyBuddy. But i dont farm that often in the Twilight Highlands cause there's much more herb/ore in Uldum (may be related to phasing, i didnt do a single quest ).

 

Wouldnt this kind of thread just help Blizzard in pin pointing bots better? By telling them what class most people use, how they gear.

I use 3 DKS, one mage, a druid.. I'm leveling a paladin but tauren to be my herber.. DKs are my miner, mage is a herbalist (old toon from when iplayed) and i made tauren drud for herbing.. overall I like my DKs the best, I'm trying out a tauren paladin next, not much different than tauren DK in my eyes.

I wouldnt say i noticably see an increase in stacks between my mage's herbs and my druid's herbs though

 

i cant vouch for twilight, or uldum for this matter because I think the cc still isnt the best, but I can bot in uldum all day long with shitty gear on my lock as destro with no issues on dying, unless another player kills me.

 

Hunter is not good for TW, as it may use disengage wich will make it fall from cliffs or even agro more mobs...

 

Paladin or feral druid, both tested in a 24hour-session, both at zero death with about 340 ilvl

 

If doing herbalism, take tauren druid because of the tauren racial (extra herbing speed) and druids dont have to get out of flight form to pick herbs. Also as a tauren you get 540 herbalism instead of 525.

 

Paladin 100%, you make more gold in the long run if doing herbs/mines in Twilight Highlands. Druids tend to die Twilight Highlands in any spec and your repair bill ends up high. But I could leave my Paladin farming for days with 0 deaths in either Ret or Prot spec.

If only doing herbing the druid might be better, but if doing both 100% paladin!

 

Tauren Druids. I never die in feral spec, even with crappy gear and awkward pulls. They are unmatched when it comes to herbing. That being said, every class takes the same amount of time to mine. Factor in the fact that a druid gets instant mounting via Swift Flight Form and you can see that any Druid, even non-Taurens, wins the resource race every time. But in the end use the class you like.

 

It is a fact that it do depends on the profile and area.

An area with many nodes and short distances then the Druid for sure, but an Area with a bit longer flightdistances like a full Uldum mining route, then the Paladin thanks to the less flight time needed.

 

Frost Death knights and Paladins are the fastest gatherers. Their speed increase will surpass the benefit of Druid's Flight form, assuming each character uses 310% flying.

 

Not in cataclysm, distances are short. You prob right for older content. And I have dropped mining since herbing alone is so fast as tauren druid

 

My advice to that would be to turn off disengage in whatever CC you are using. Unless you are concerned that he will walk off the cliff with or without disengage.

 

I have a holy paladin and he does fine...The fight comes to a Druid and A Pally. Assuming that both of them are dps. Pally has crusader aura Which is used. Sometimes the bot doesnt use it...Its random like that. Druid...instant Flight form. In the end I perfer Crusader aura.
