Topic, my main account was banned since 5+ month's ago now. Question is, is it to risky to get back as there are bans every day these days?
What is the common time-gap between detections for honorbuddy? Just a general timeline~

I understand that people shouldn't use bot on their main accounts, however i always felt enough safe with honorbuddy in the past, i would even feel safer if i used only the rotation bot when im online, however now I'm not sure as i've seen the ban section as there seems to be bans every day.

Thanks for every input in the poll and appreciate all answers.

Been botting (not on main account) safely for over a month now. Got banned in Nov. 2016, gave up for a while. No issues since returning.

Still wouldn't use it on main account though.

In my opinion, it is suicide use in the main account. Using bots is always going to be dangerous, but the last 6 months have proven it has never been so dangerous.

If you use the main account my best advice is to always use the bot after 7-10 days of the last bot upgrade. When the banwaves appear, the ban happens after 5-7 days that the bot is updated.

For what I saw, it has always been a matter of Bot (software) detection, and not a Quest or farming, or behavior.
Just meanthat, in my opinion, questing, farming or rotation is as risky as other.

An answer? yeah, it's really risky.
Is it worth? your call ;)

It is not worth returning on your main account. make a second to bot toons to level and so forth if you lose them its not a big deal. but if you bot on main again? good bye for 18 months.

The thing is, i want to fly in legion. For that i need to get revered in all the factions of legion, i don't have much left for suramar.
Would you guys think it's okey to farm the reputation and then quit?

How long has it been recently between the ban waves?

Farm your rep then transfer the character to a clean license on the same battlenet account. Stay away from selling your gold and you should avoid a perma-ban

What do you mean by "transfer the character to a clean license on the same battlenet account" ?

Again how long has it been recently between the ban waves? Do i pose a greater risk of getting manually banned if i have been banned before?

you can create a new WOW (up to 8 total) license under your existing battle.net account.
after your char met most of the flying prerequisites, you can buy a character transfer to copy the char from WOW1 to WOW2
NEVER BOT ON WOW 2 !!!

that way it is "safe"... even if HB gets hit by a banwave only your WOW1 license will get a suspension.
But WOW2 with your flying char is untouched and "clean" and will not get banned !

I thought the battle net account is blizzard themselves, kinda weird if that would work.
But basically you are telling me to:
Bot/Farm up my character -> Buy a entire new World of warcraft license for like 50€ -> Transfer my character which cost like 30€ and i'll be safe?

Let's say i do this, why wouldn't i be botting up then stop entirely with the bot... Would i still be getting the hammer even if it takes what 2+ months until next ban wave?

Again how long has it been recently between the ban waves?

I don't know...ask your self! Two posts above it was you who asked:

Yes...you'll be safe. But prizes from keyshops are way cheaper: B/C: 7€ Legion: 26€
you can also buy the transfer from battle.net balance filled from wow token.

Its been 4+ months since the last unavoidable banwave. Everything else is operator error that is getting you banned.

Your first comment, i don't get it at all.
Second, so yeah. It would cost around 50€ including the honorbuddy license as my lifetime license doesn't work any longer :(
But i guess it's worth it if i can farm for a month or two then just do it.

      That wasn't my question.
The question was how long has it been recently between the ban waves?
Clarification: How many months apart from each other has the ban waves been?

If there has been ban waves every 5-6 month's since 2015 then it's pretty safe to say that it will be another ban wave within 2-3 month's if there hasn't been any major changes to the hiding process for honorbuddy.
So again how long has it been between the ban waves that has been?

Banwave's are not some equation where you can say it will happen between every 6~12 months. It could be every month if blizzard really wanted to most likely. But they will not allocate such resources to do so since it really does not have a point. The community was really and I mean REALLY nasty about bots in WoD. That is most likely the biggest reason behind the banwaves. I don't really see much complaining outside of the "chinese gold farmers" which is standard. If you see people bitching alot in WoW forums for an extended period of time... then that is probably a good indicator a banwave will follow suit.

BTW: They still are anal about PvP botting. Even if it is just CR, They have had 2 banwaves in legion already and people using Firehack / EWT for CR Only instead of honorbuddy got stuck in the banwave as well. And in the previous unavoidable banwaves honorbuddy was not the only platform effected. The issue you are complaining about is not software specific and the HB team is probably the platform you can put the most faith in to security wise. ( and longest lasting platform )

TL;DR It really depends how badly blizzard want's to ban botters and how badly standard wow communities complain about bots.

      Again, you are not responding.

If there is a common time-gap you can at least try get the idea of when it would hit. I'm quite sick of people who's here to debate into the details that "anything is possible". It's quite safe to say that if a continuation of the bans has been between 5-7 months apart for the ban waves to appear since 2-3 years back then you can at least take a logical assumption that it will happen again probably within these timeframes.

I'm not after a 100% correct answer, I'm just asking for the time gaps between the damn dates. Why are people avoiding this question? It's not like we're asking you if you know when it's going to happen. I'd like to make my own assumption based on the damn time-gap between the bans.

      I'm giving up.
Asking serious question, you'll get shit back. Nice community members right here.

70 days? I do not remember one 70 days ago. there was a handful of bans in late april and some in may but no actual wave.

The actual ban waves is what I'm after.
Not individual bans that are based on reports or gold selling etc.

Common time-gap is when the community complains a-lot or major content patches... Like I said above

      It depends....

Why are you avoiding reading the answers? Everything I am typing here is redundant from my last statment

That is exactly what you are asking if you don't want to think about the variables and just want a simple every 6 months answer....

      That is very... childish

You are asking for a simple answer to a complex question.
Then bashing the community because you don't want to try and think about the variables... But I will try and give you the simple version. The banwave you are thinking about was most likely going to happen about a week ago when 7.2.5 drops or this week when tomb opened. So to answer your question if it does not happen within the next month it most likely won't be a predictable ban-wave.

there was a banwave on november 22, 2016 and the most recent on Feb 1, 2017 ... thats 70 days apart

I do not say that this number helps in any way.
it's like saying "hm... it was exactly 4 weeks between the police catched me for driving to fast... so now I am safe for the next 4 weeks"
