I knew he'd cut and run. Anyone who purchased a license after the lifetime keys were revoked has egg on their face, myself included. This is apparently the way Germans do business.

How many germans you do business with to justify this stupid comment? Why there was a change to the lifetime keys was already discussed a lot of times. Go read and understand it!

@BotOperator: can you shed some light on when the hearthbuddy bot is going to be updated?

I would say thanks to this great community. Sad to see that it comes to an end.
I used hb for a long time in silence and I enjoyed it.
Thanks for the hard work of the devs they put in this bot.
We will see what happens in the near or far future...
if there's coming up a v4 from nowhere? Who knows?
I had so much fun with this bot and all the money and time was worth it.
      For now... I'm out.

      Bye Buddies

Buddy, the botting community that didn't need active window to play the game.
The Community that provided support in every form possible.
were did it go wrong? Legal Fightings? not really.
my personal opinion is that the Buddy community fell apart when prices per every product turned into 8/13 Euro per month, a price that is simply laughable.
i don't mind spending money, helping creators or the likes, but paying more for pirating a product then the actual product itself is such a big "fuck you" that i simply cant make myself do it.
who knows, at the end of 2018 we might see prices being just as expensive as Monthly Price for MMorpg games like WoW.
2016-17 for me when it comes to Buddy have been a negative year.
Focusing on adding PokeFarmer? HeartBuddy? did we really need those?
i wish the best for Buddy in the future, but to do that they must take these past few years to heart, consider all the mistakes they made and move forward with those in mind.
there's plenty of games out there that really could use Buddy's help, so hopefully Buddy will get over its own faults and get on its feet.
Also, Buddy have for a long time tried to act Innocent by having the law on its side when it comes to the Legallity of Third party programs, it have been a needless effort at an uphill battle on that front, a front that was doomed to fail from the start.

Thanks for the awesome time... I remember when HB2 was released, GB was still seperate for a long time while LK.
The best time of botting was MoP in my eyes, I've got just 1(!) ban of like 15 or 20 accs I started my whole "carreer" just for private or sometimes friends.
I enjoyed the CRs so much, I loved watching my toons questing the stuff I did like 50 oder 5000 times, I loved my bee.
Since the evil warden offensive by blizz, I quit using my bee, due to my "private non commercial botting stuff" and switched to the soap thing, that was a nice time too... now its ALL gone.
But I think that times change, when I played WotLK by myself before I started using GB to farm my stuff while doing school stuff... it was still awesome.
Then I got lazy, HB is/was so powerful, that you just dont want to play yourself... its so confusing and you get addicted (at least I got).

Thank you HB Team, thank you Zlatan (Boss), you had the eggs (german speech thing) to confront blizzard and their army of lawyers on our "holy ground". You were always the star of the botters heaven, fighting for us.
Even if you got to the point where theres no way out, you stated clear that maybe, somewhen, something will happen again to bring us back these awesome automation you formed over like a decade.
As you call are able to read, my english isnt the best still, but I hope your brain is able to get the puzzle together and read out the sense of my words.

Writing an bot for linux isn't the solution as long there is no native linux client for WoW. If you run wow under wine, the same problems exists. The only other option is to make one for Mac OS, what is build upon FreeBSD. It's not so difficult to install Mac OS on an intel desktop. But rewriting the code in C++ ... Migrating from a low level computer language to a high level computer language isn't that difficult, the other way is a hell in the beginning. Fortran, C, C++ = low level, C#, Java and many others are high end.

If they are done, like defeated done , it would be nice to see the source code released so others can take a crack at it. Hopefully defeat and greed wont outweigh progress.

Peace out, HB. Appreciate your helping me enjoy a game I could no longer dedicate enormous amounts of time to, and the irony in all this is it means I'll be unsubscribing and obviously not buying anything from Blizzard's digital shop anymore.
