      Hey folks.

So i've been hearing great stuff about this Netflix thing, however - from what i can see, they have alot of series that aren't exactly updated (last updates 2010 on several series)

It only seems like there's a few 2011/2012 series/movies out there.
Is it not all that, it's hyped up to be?

No, it's good, if you're not expecting to see immediate releases of things that have just hit DVD. For that, you'd want to have the other part of their service where they send you the DVD in the mail. The digital service is painfully slowly getting updated. Netflix, at one point, stated that by 2015 they were going to be strictly digital and were going to eliminate their mailing service because they were going to get rid of the DVDs. But, as you can see, I don't think their update speed is going to meet their projected deadline of 2015.

I have the digital line of their service, and not the home delivery service, but I still enjoy what shows they have online right now. What is not listed on Netflix, I just find online at various tv/movie sites that come and go. It's a fair tradeoff since my internet is the fastest my cable company provides to non-business customers, so streaming is a joke for me. I stream radio, play WoW, watch Netflix, and download stuff all at the same time and my internet doesn't even flinch.

But yes, Netflix is pretty nice if you don't mind being slightly outdated like they are. There are other services like Netflix that may be updated sooner, but have less to pick from, such as Blockbuster.

It's shit, it's the 10 years late as always movie industrys answer to people watching movies online for free.

Guess what? they're holding back on the best tv shows because they feel that they'll make less money as they sell it in other places.

They just don't get it and never will, by the time they do get it... we will be on a different platform that they've yet to reach for another 10-20 years.

Their business models will never be fair to the customer and will always be shitting down the consumers throat for the shareholders.

      Heres the fair system that they will never do;

      1. All TV Shows released via a system box (like Sky) and downloadable on demand
      2. All TV Shows released the same time as the USA, why should the USA get it first and make others wait
      3. Maybe a bit extra price in HD but not taking the piss which is what they currently do

and some other stuff, either way I download for free in HD, plug USB into PS3 and enjoy with 5.1 surround sound.

Kindle Fire still not released in the UK.

If you are in the US, netflix is great, however the UK service is absolutely crap and how they have the cheek to give it the same name is beyond me. Lovefilm instant offers a much better service in UK, however, a decent torrent search engine coupled with Project Free TV beats them both

      Thing is; I'm from Denmark.
I set up my ps3 for an American dns and decided to give it a go.
I love the idea of netflix, except its lack of new episodes on series and quite some films

Is there something else like this?
That can be used on a ps3 and is more updated?

Well, you could look up the Blockbuster service. It has streaming tv shows and movies, if I'm not mistaken. But, other than that, I'm not sure of anything else like Netflix.
