Lets see whats more cost effective, writing a program that will scan 10 MILLION or so accounts at any given moment, or simply letting your peers report you and them auto banning you.. hmm!!

Anyways im laughing at all the posts that say WoW CANNOT scan your processes or hooks/attachments to wow. Im just... yea... laughing........

 

Yes, Well botting for 2 years and not a Ban yet. People who get banned are basically doing things that arnt human, just act human dont bot 24/7 or trade a ton of gold or place over 100 AH items in under 5 mins. Use your brain and if WoW does ( not saying them dont) ever scan people computers then why are there tons and tons of botting gold sellers in the world of mmo. I would say in the 12 million that play about 500,000+ bot or sell gold

Blizz sure as hell wasn't laughing when 12 EU countries threatened to sue them for breach of privacy for scanning memory space outside their own application.
What they did do, though, is change Warden about 3 weeks later so that it didn't do that anymore.

 

Tell you what, you bot 15+ hours a day and ill wear my tin foil hat and bot 5-10 a day... and see who keeps their account longer

Bottom line is, suck it up. If you get banned OH WELL! I bot with the EXPECTATION that one day I will try to log in and it be banned forever. Account banned = TOO DAMN BAD imo.

 

Im sure Croga is not saying he bots 15+ hours a day, I thought you was laughing because you think that bliz can read processing, Im sure there is evidence that they did get sued for reading other peoples computers with memory. And I remember when they did get threatened for trying to do so. They can read inside WoW thats it.

I just remembered with it was live the scanning of processes...that was when Glider got a huge BAN WAVE and shut-down not long after

 

No but he feels so sure that they dont check your running processes, im sure he will bot for 15+ hours a day KNOWING that he's 100% safe.

More importantly (damn, sorry still gotta burst your bubble) I was botting long before Xpath was added to Glider. I was writing profiles when you still had to add the coordinates by trial and error. I was getting my account hacked before it was cool and still I was never banned.

As said; I was responding only to you laughing at the fact that people know processes will not be read. That doesn't make me a fool, nor does it make me ignorant. It makes me part of that group of people that wants to know *everything* about what makes this game and it's bot tick. And one of those things is knowing that Warden really isn't all that agressive.

 

Sorry to say that but you know nothing about programming. Sure Blizzard can scan all that, but it's detectable. Just take the simple process monitor as you mentioned. In fact Blizzard tries to read Internet Explorer 4 settings, which doesn't exist on my computer ;-)

Now you can say: "Blizzard is not so stupid to do it the obvious way"
Good use the process monitor from Sysinternals. That can list you anything the normal process monitor doesn't show, it shows you even what registers in the RAM are used by which process, what started it and so on. You can clearly observe what is started when you launch Wow. They don't monitor anything outside their own process. Of course they read settings about you internet connection, computer specification, IP and MAC adresses but just nothing more.

Now you can say: "Blizzard is very, very clever, they can even hide it from the operating system"
*MEEP* That's illegal, it means to alter OS system files or even the bios/efi on the mainboard. And that copyright belongs to giants like Microsoft, Apple, IBM whatever OS you are using. Sony tried it once with a copy protection progamm called XCP and was sued by microsoft because of copyright infringement. It was settled out of court. No one tried it ever since.

That's why they don't do it. Because when it's detectable it's easy to write a programm that gives back the right answers. Take Assassins Creed 3. Perhaps it took 5 days instead of 2, but the copy protection was disabled.

 

Well i got a question. I am flagged by blizz now? How long should i wait till i bot again in uldum?

 

Alexis alot of accounts get flagged, even for just posting a ton of items on the AH dont worry to much about it just wait a day or so.

There's a difference between HonorBuddy getting detected, wich would mean the moment you start your bot up you'll either get flagged or banned, and you getting banned because you were reported/triggered a general anti-gold selling mechanic...

If Blizzard really did scan your processes, wich they don't, the HB team would surely have made HonorBuddy.exe show up as a random .exe in your process tree. This is what other bots did back in the day when not a whole lot was known about Warden.

The 'worst' thing Warden did afaik was scan your window names, encrypt them, send them over to Blizzard and compare the encrypted result with other encryptions. They got in trouble for it and stopped doing it.

You dont have to bot to get the Abuse of Economy, Alot of my friends have gotten that due to placing tones of items up on the AH just using plugins.

 

ok lets say u post some really big amount of items in AH on Monday, u get flagged but not insta banned.What will happen after the "flaging" ? If you stop "boting" will the autoflag dissapear after some days ? There are many people posting 200+items a day with legal way.

 

'cause bans generally don't have anything to do with Warden.

 

Keep using public profiles, it helps with the bans.

 

That is a lot of auctions.. I never go over 80 a day. Usually like 200 a week actually.
