      Hey all,

Well the title says it already.

What is actually the best way to hide your IP from your botting account? So only use your main on your original IP adress?

      Thanks in advance.

the best way is not to do it, blizzard could care less if your legit account is on the same connection as someone who was botting. the IP isn't everything. if your main account is legit and you keep them separate enough, (like not sending massive amounts of gold or mats to your main account) ive been botting on the same connection as my family and friends for years, and we even share a guild bank where i put mats and stuff in, and blizzard hasn't done anything. if your main account is legit they wont do anything because it did nothing wrong.

Well cheers for the lovely and fast answer! As I still well very new to botting I thought it could help to remove any suspect of the main account which is legit and will always be legit.
Anyway, again thanks for answering mate :)

      Well another question regarding this.

I was botting earlier on roughly 2 months ago on another account (which got perm banned even after the 72h period) they sended me an email regarding the fact they are keeping an eye open on my accounts and also aside of that my IP-adress.
And here I am still botting from the same IP-adress, does that not raise a flag at their wonderfull thoughts "Hey, this kiddo we banned is again online for 18 hours straight *bleep*"?

So again, is it not smarter to put an ip changer on the bot, because that ip is not flagged nor a botter was caught earlier on it?

But remember, blizzard knows of all free prxx's out there and if you use those you can see the shadow of the banhammer around you.
Those have been used to much by the chinese.

So follow the tip above: don't hide it.
Bot smart and don't give them reason to suspect you!

      Hi,
maybe a short experience from my side.
I bot since 6 month using a professional V.P.N. service, because I do not want to risk my main (non-botting) account by any way (6 years of playing WOW, would break my heard if for what ever reason this account would be banned).
When I started botting using the V.P.N. service, I was banned after 3 days, but that was more or less an automatic bann because blizz does know the IPs of V.P.N. services as they told me later when I complained. And of course they recommend not to use any kind of that service, but it is not against blizz EULA!!
Anyhow, after writing a short email asking why I was banned, they checked my bot account and released it right away.
Since this time, no probs at all.

Like the other poster said, as long as you don't directly trade massive amounts of gold/mats to your main legit account, you should be ok. Personally I bot on a separate computer (blizz also can check machine IDs not just IPs) and using a private V.P.N. i setup myself, not any public ***.

What I do is get a VPS (Virtual Private Server) running linux (specifically CentOS 5 32bit) and setup open*** on there. I have a script that does it all automatically for me. The VPS's cost roughly $35/year for a cheap one. And that is your very own, private V.P.N. that nobody else would ever use except you.

Not sure why you even think using fake ip would help, im new to bots and done some research before doing it, remember if you use the same comp for yea main they could use that as they have your set-up info comp name, specs etc. just that info could be good enough to use against you, let alone your credit card and pay pal info IF you use them for both accounts and so on, as some one said use bot wisely, and your be ok, leave it all day on bgbuddy odds your get ban from reports.. it will only be bot account, blizz make a lot off money from banning accounts and people buying over again, don't be one of them ;)

My two cents, hide what ever you want, in the end it will make no difference. You connect to "their" server and transfer information from "their" server to your computer and vise versa. Enough said.

Well, who isn't to say that Account A (botting account) isn't your son's account, while Account B (main account) is your Dad's account and Account C (whatever account) isn't your Sister's account? My thought process would be that they couldn't ban you just because your IP on Account A which was banned runs from the same IP as Account B, especially if they are on at different times etc.

I know we live in an age where a "Shared Computer" isn't as common as it once was as everyone seems to have their own computer, but still...

Or perhaps that could be a valid argument if a ban across two accounts did happen? "Hey Blizz, ummm... so my Sister went off her nut saying her account was banned, QQ for her I guess, but mine was banned too. I share the same computer as her, so a little confused why both accounts were banned?"

*** is the best choice. I use this *** https://www.waselpro.com/en/ to hide your IP address. all servers are encrypted, this one worked great for me.

      THIS!

Hiding the ip makes no sense. MAC and other things stay the same.
Bot with brain and bot human like meaning noch 3 days without a single break and the risk is low.
Setting up tunnels, using multiple ISPs or virtual machines or whatever makes only sense in very special (most likely business) environments.

Bot and if you get a ban, create a new char and try again. If you fear loosing an account --> DO NOT BOT at all!

This because if you're too scared to lose it don't bother toying with it. Be like the Crocodile Hunter! Grow some stones and put it all on the line you'll either get away with all them close calls or get hit one day. Point is, you'll never know the outcome of your actions until it happens. Being cautious is the best way to bot, bot like you would be playing. By that I mean setup the bot to play good enough to not get reported, put up all of the variables where you seem like you'd be available to play. Obviously 24/7 is the easiest way to get banned, so only bot when you're up able to monitor it or set the plugins to handle that and keep going.
