We need the founders/owners/administrators to step in and resolve this. There is too much power given to these moderators and in my opinion, we need a new hand in charge to resolve this matter.

I am a supporter to the people who are helping the community. Anything which hinders that I strongly disagree.

 

I run 4 accts, have written plugins, contribute to plugins, and sincerely enjoy using db, however only with Giles' plugins.

Hear me now, as developers of this product, you have absolutely profited from Giles' work moreso than he has. Without Giles Trinity (and the predecessors) I would never have gone from 1 acct to 4 - using text based loot rules and the belphagor routine were not nearly as efficient or convenient for the "casual" botter.

I am not saying that DB is responsible for cowing to Giles' every whim, but his support base is very large, and as of right now, if trinity is not continued with DB, the fallout will be immense.

1 - you will discourage plugin creations, something that really made DB attractive to casual coders.
2 - two, you will discourage casual botters, who do not wish to spend so much time making code loot rules, or diving so deep into code to make their character do what they want.
3 - Giles, a one man operation, has been more responsive to community requests, support, and feature requests than the entire DB team. The DB team has been not only cryptic with updates, but downright difficult, refusing to offer rollbacks, refusing to acknowledge nav server / login auth server issues, and being extremely slow to feature requests (e.g. access to paragon exp has been a request by many, yet here I am with almost full paragon level bots and that api is still not available)

I could go on, and probably will in future posts / edits. This post is not meant to be threatening or anything of that nature, I am just disappointed that there is not more of a collaboration effort rather than a directive effort in that project that has made DB the success it is today.

And one last thing, which I shouldn't feel hesitant to post but I am, I am absolutely disgusted with the way customer service is being handled. This is a business, and while the business is possibly violating the eula of another program, that does not change the fact that there is a paying customer receiving support from moderators with a "LOLOL I OWN THE BOARD AND BAN U IF YOU DUN STFU" attitude....Moderators would do well to do a filter of moderator only posts, and read them as if they were trying to get support for a product they use regularly that was performing below their expectations. If you aren't a 13 year old anonymous lolinternator you should be as disgusted as I am.

 

Over 10+ DB keys here, I can tell you without giles, I would have jumped to D3TNT a long time ago. At least they can get the freaking random dungeons working...

 

From an outside view, all Giles wants is to be treated with respect, as any normal human being would. People representing Demon Buddy's interests in public (looking at you, Tony) should not be allowed to freely fling insults at will. There are many better ways to sort such disagreements.
This is a business, after all - stay professional.

DB developers and customer support, should be ashamed of themselves.
The fact that you've managed to upset Giles, one of the most patient individuals ever to step foot onto this forum, is proof enough of your absolutely terrible customer support and developer relationships.

But no, let's keep releasing broken versions of DB, prevent users from downloading working versions, and insult people that have essentially built your product for you.
Tony will probably censor this too, not even sure how he managed to get a customer support job...

 

I agree devious. Giles has been the #1 dev for a while... I don't know any serious botters that go without Trinity. Shame to see all his hard work being so disrespected

 

A simple "previous version" download ... would of probably made this all a moot point.

I think Giles wouldn't like that. We should at least get his permission first. If he took his links down he had a good reason for doing so.

For me DB is good BECAUSE gilesSmith plugin IS awesome. That's as easy as that to understand.
DB bot is ok, but without trinity it's just a standard bot. GilesSmith plugin is like the ENGINE of a Ferrari: remove it and you have a nice car to watch, add it and you have a nice car to drive !

censoring GilesSmith is the same as shooting yourself in the dick: wrong idea, wrong results.
