Same Kane has it purely right. You pay for the Honorbuddy Software, any Profiles come out of the kindness of other people to write and share them with the public, you do not pay for that part. You are free to write your own or pay someone to write private ones for you, but otherwise you wait like I do.

The line of thinking that you pay for the bot and not the profiles is flawed. Without profiles, cc's and the other things that make the bot work properly hardly anyone would buy HB. I can make simple grinding and GB2 profiles but thats about it so if there wasnt other profiles to use I surely wouldnt have bought this program. Just my 2c
Geez, I can't elaborate on how this makes me laugh! Humor me on that: by your line of thinking (ie: the idea that we pay for the bot and not the profile is flawed), at which point do profile makers gets paid? I mean, if we'd also pay for profiles, profile makers should get their piece of the pie, right? Well guess what, Salzman from accounting: they don't. How 'bout you give them a cut of your profit on gold or powerleveling? Oh, what's that? Not so keen on the idea? Thought as much... So yeah, you pay for the bot. Profile makers make these out of their own spare time because they wanna make it easier for you guys. Don't pressure them because you have a business selling something that, in fact, does not even belong to you. I don't care if you do, but don't hold profile makers accountable because you're "losing business". They have no contracts with you, nor anyone else. Want them to hurry? Hire them on contract terms. I don't necessarily mean to come across as conceited; I simply want the point behind that to be understood.
What he said was factually correct, if profiles didn't exist FAR fewer people would buy HB. Can't really dispute that. There could be a debate as to whether or not profiles should be included with HB. Currently they are not, and freelance profile creators have stepped up to fill the void. They accept donations, and they are paid for their work. I would assume they make enough to make it worth their time, or they would have stopped making them. For example I donated handsomely to Giles over on DB for writing a beautiful combat routine. I'm making $$ thanks to their work anyways, why not compensate them? However, I would argue it is somewhat deceiving to the average person that "walks in" and buys HB. They expect to be able to click a button and have it do what it is advertised to do. This is how HB is advertised: "Our WOW Bot Honorbuddy can help you in the following areas: Leveling by Grinding or Questing, Person-versus-Person Battles (PVP), Mining, Harvesting, Enchanting, Skinning, Engineering, Archaeology, Dungeons and so much more. Honorbuddy uses a fully unique Navigation System, fully integrated vendoring, mailing and usage of Flightmaster, its open API allows developers to write Add-ons, Combat Classes, Plugins and much more!" It doesn't mention the fact that you have to spend hours writing a profile after you buy the program, just to do most of the things advertised above. And I am not complaining at all. I am quite pleased with the profiles people are writing. My point is, the way HB is advertised is a little misleading. Its no surprise you have people expecting it to work 100% out of the box. Don't ask me why the profile devs and the HB devs haven't come together by now to combine their work.
Actually I got donated € 1.50 for my Horde 85-90 questing profile. Sure, its not the best profile we have on this forum but come on, for the first and most extensive horde questing right now, that's not "worth their time". But I'm fine with that, both some $ and warming words are much appreciated! What makes me much more angry are people posting on my thread, being not helpful when reporting "doenst work lol" with no log, hating on me for issues that are obviously not profile related (like fucked up navigation), dont reading any other posts, just being stupid... *grrr
I agree 100% with liquidsnakeblue's and I was going to reply once I read the thread, and talk about the same issue. I do appreciate, and thank ALL the freelancers that have created a profile(s) for us, without them the bot would have never reached this notoriety and fame. Therefore making this business very lucrative (selling HB) I assume, now the business owners have to stand up and find solution(s) to keep HB the best in it's category. Although I want to be patient, I cant help remembering that I have paid for this software (2 lifetime licenses) and still cannot use it to it's fullest with MOP.
Lets talk in commercial language then, honorbuddy has been selling for years as an honor farming bot...afaik bgbuddy and the honor farming is working perfectly atm...also...honorbuddy got gatherbuddy merged a long time ago...and...also...gatherbuddy is working flawlessly and there are a lot of profiles around...so...if you think the honor farming bot or the herbing/mining bot have misleading advertizing you can sue them as you should...you can also complain here on the forum as you wish...just get your facts right, the bot does whats advertized for... Even more...if your thing is leveling then you can still get a lot of grinding profiles or you can bg level too...so, you have your needs solved too if you wish, but no...as everything nowadays we complain about everything, quoting my trade channel yesterday " there are a lot of sand on ppl cunts nowadays"... Now on the nice side, think about it, its not HB fault but more like users (complainers like you) fault, every1 complained on blizzard forums that the game was to easy and that they bored a lot, now you spend days and weeks leveling a toon only to spend weeks and months doing dailys to get the nice gear...and now ppl complain that there are to much grinding to do...again..."there are a lot of sand on ppl cunts nowadays"...so yea, you dont want to spend countless hours leveling a toon now but also you are going to get bored to hell if you level one to fast...nothing is never enough...
