I used HonorBuddy on 24 hour subscriptions for over two weeks with no problems whatsoever. It's a great product with a great development team, but the last few days have been absolutely ludicrous. Now, I see some of the script kiddies posting on these forums and I genuinely abhor and despise their behaviour ("WE BUYED UR PRODUCT U OWE US EVERYTHING!") and that is not the intention of this post.

Essentially the principle of it is this; developers, what the hell is going on? The mesh issues, the ongoing freezing with HonorBuddy (mining a couple of nodes then stopping - I just lost three hours to this), the Authentication Failed issues, there's no real communication ("Post a log" is not a solution). What has occurred in the past few days that is causing all of these functionalism, or lack thereof?

Yeah I'm pretty sure that link is posted everywhere. Not sure why people don't search first.

Because I know that it's a server problem, but what is the issue? Are they being DDoS'd? Is it more than that?

I'm smart enough to read other threads and I know it's a "server issue", I'd just like to know what exactly the issue is.

I'm also a developer, I believe they where not expecting amount of users to come back for MOP. Like they said in previous threads, they now need a load balancer, which they are configuring and will be done by Monday. So, clearly they are having problems handling all of the activity, I doubt they're being ddosed.

Essentially they are being DDoS'd, but by all of us. The servers are receiving so many requests that they cannot handle everything being thrown at them and thus cannot always respond in a timely manner. This, being coupled with their software method results in some nasty errors. Its like disconnecting in WoW, you don't send/receive timely communication requests to or from the server and you disconnect. Same concept, except now its communicating with outside resources that are put in place so HB isn't *****ed and distributed for free to all the little script kiddies with a torrent client.

we're working hard to fix the issues, when you paid for honorbuddy you paid for a Elite or "lifetime" (although we dont call it that anymore) key, (unless you paid for a 1 day key in that case you can e-mail support and get an extension) that means that while we're having issues now, once they are resolved the service will be much more robust and and will hold up better if anything like this ever happens again. so consider this a lone hiccup in an otherwise long and fruitful business arrangement.
