I know that I had an account banned using the Pirox bot since the Archa bot apparently got a huge banwave. I was wondering exactly how the technology has changed since a year ago when pirox came out with the Archa bot. I have used every part of the Buddy Bot except for that since I'm pretty scared to do so since that's the one thing that Blizz could see a year ago.
If I recall right, pirox used something that could be easily traced, I doubt the developers from HB would do something like that.
I've never had a problem with it to be honest it works however not in MOP zones yet really, but a Banwave was this related to HB? I have not came across a Ban report when it came to that bot base
No, it was the Pirox Bot, which has since been taken down since I believe that Blizz sued him or something. And I can't believe he used something that traceable, I bet he lost a lot of money with that. Especially since I'm sure it led to his downfall.
I thought that he had been around for a long time just as HB has. Maybe not quite as long, but for a good while. HB is the best bot though. <3
PiroX used some sort of method where it would spit out coords into chat then read the chat to figure out where to go, something along those lines. HB's version of Archaeologybuddy is MUCH MUCH safer. I've currently been AFK botting Archaeology for 2 weeks, off and on. I've gotten 1-600 archaeology, many of the rares, it leveled my guy from 80-89 with about 2% manual intervention. It's pretty flawless, except for Flightor (in some locations).
He didn't stand a chance when it came to Blizzard though, he closed shop, Guess he could not handle the heat
Good to know, I may have to give it a shot. I'd love to get back some of the cool goodies that I used to have. What is this about how someone said it doesn't work too well in Pandaria? Edit: And that's correct, it did spit out some coords on random channels or something. To someone not knowing programming, can you explain how HB does it?
In Panda Zone i dont use it afk, there are a lot of Places where Archbuddy is getting crazy and look 100% like a bot.
Well i haven't tested it on Pandaria yet, but i guess what has been happening there's been a few issues (aside from potential mesh and navigation issues) where the bot won't pick up and/or solve the pandaren artifacts. But i'm not sure if this is still an issue or not because there's was an update that supposedly fixed that issue, however there is still no GUI for pandaren artifacts or w/e. But the nice thing about AB, is you're not just sitting farming in one spot where it's easy to be spotted as a bot. You're constantly changing zones, flying everywhere, which means there's a low chance of interacting with other players, except for maybe at digsites. I can go AFK botting for days at a time and never get a whisper from another player, except maybe asking "Are you farming ore in this zone" type of thing ya know?
