It's getting pretty obvious who is botting in BGs now and who isnt, one quick glance and you can point out all the bots in BGs.

We need randomized paths that make all the bots move to different locations, It should be pretty simple considering most BGs are rather small.

All the bots move to the same spots in sync and looks way too obvious, its only a matter of time before we all get the hammer.

Hell, one Blizzard employee could jump into 80-89 bgs and flag all the bots in like 20 seconds, it's way too obvious.

Yet they haven't. In 7 years, they have never gone in BGs and flagged everyone. Why not? You make it sound so easy!

They are already working on it, as they have stated so many times already.

we are currently in the process of changing our logic for our battleground bot, to work around these issues.

I really hope you do, because yesterday the team reported about 20 bots in IoC and in the first 5 minutes of the game they were all removed from the battleground.

Even people who never bot can now spot a bot and some report them. This is not safe by any means.

Good to hear, It seems like you guys could just add different paths and randomize which way they go, therefore all the bots wouldn't travel in one big pack >.>

      has basin been updated really?

      i don't see anything different...still very botty

i think what needs to be fixed is that whenever i just use singular/frost from one of the CC threads to bg. it'll spam bomb or glitch out or just cast frost lance over and over and nothing else.
when i use Ultimate pvp plugin, it'll run straight in kamikaze into a group of 10 by itself, blinking in like a boss and getting slaugthered.

seems kinda bottish in that regard as well.

I think all it needs to happen is a rand generator of two behaviors per objective (Arathil being used as example) so there'd be 10 of them, and it'd choose to defend/camp or attack a point instead of always moving about, waiting for flag cap and standing still for 1 minute.

      just my suggestions :)

It's not about RANDOM pathing anymore, as it doesn't really help.

      1. Bots need to behave like the others. They need to stack AT the gates instead of a few steps away from it. Everyone spots them at the start right now because of this.
      2. Bots need to learn to use and drive siege equipment. Behaviors for this exist already.
      3. Bots need to decide from the start where they want to go, instead of follow the "Biggest Friendly Pack", as when in a 10-man group 7 are bots, this creates lumps of confused bots, who can't decide where to go.
      4. Bots need to learn to intelligently handle objectives, which they now kind of do in AB, but it's not enough. Examples would be - if Friendly Boss is under attack, go on Defense, if Enemy boss is under attack, go on Offense, if both are under attack, go where there are less players. Other examples would be to cap and def towers and bunkers in AB, bomb gates, assault of def towers in EoS, know when to go for flag, etc.
      5. Bots need to learn to do other small things for their team, like set roles, buff intelligently, drop tables and Soulwells, get melee off friendly casters and CC enemies if an ally is under attack by them.

Only then will people stop raging about bots, because now players complain the most about the fact that the botters in their party use dumb bots and less about the fact that they are botting. They are pissed that the bots cost them game after game after game and report them, because they are sick of losing. Really, HB needs to step up its BG performance, or a lot of its users will end up biting the ban hammer.
