I'm looking for a better alternative to fraps, this is because when i drag my videos into Sony Vegas Pro 11 it seems that where the videos are split there is some kind of screen tear occuring, either way i would prefer some more HD videos.

I was wondering what the community use in such cases to record their WoW gameplay.

      I use Xsplit.

Its in open beta but later you have to buy it.

Xsplit is a great programm. You can stream to all the famous streaming sites, local recording with uber resolution (depends on your screen^^) etc etc.

The free trial doesnt allow the use of game recording, so i was wondering; does it compress the video files? or is it like fraps which stores tham at like 3gb per 2min video?

so much fuss with game recording, a gave up when fraps didn't work on my SSD, 6 core / 570 graphics card...

maybe in 5 years it will be more easier and in-built into games.

I am using Camtasia. I used to use fraps but it caused dramatic fps drop when playing recent game like Squad and Rainbow Six Seige. Although it still exists after turning to Camtasia, but it become better already and i can hardly feel the fps drop now and i did not ever meet so called screen tear issue no matter in fraps or Camtasia, sorry. But if you want to download it you should go to Techsmith offcial link http://discover.techsmith.com/camta...glyxNMq7DPK7i5DAk0-3h2pMc2NBiogxNUaAskG8P8HAQ because i once downloaded from a third-party platform and got infected by virus. The only issue that is worse than fraps is its disgusting output format Camrec and Camproj. If you have no idea how to stream them to YouTube you can find tutorials. This one is detailed as far as i have seen: http://www.videoconverterfactory.com/tips/camrec-to-avi.html. First convert them to AVI or MP4 and then you can upload although the process is not quite simple.
