Tonight, I purchased a key, installed the latest version, and started it. I chose a local location, and clicked start. After inputting my key, I get "PokeFarmer has stopped working." I have tried the following, all together, to no avail. This is under Windows 10 x64. 1. Uninstalling all VC++ redistributables. 2. Running BuddyWizard.exe 3. Rebooting. 4. Disabling antivirus. 5. Disabling firewall. I'm attaching the log. Event Viewer reports failure with the following events. Please also ensure any firewall or antivirus you have is off before you start PF just to rule that out.
can you check your settings and turn off transfer now? sometimes if there is too many pokemon that are trying to transfer at load up it will hang and crash. So turn of transfer immediately then try logging in again.
This is a brand new account, there is nothing to transfer - also, I don't even get as far as actually entering pogo credentials. It crashes after I enter my key, or if I store the key in the config then as soon as I click start.

Thank you for linking such an exhaustive, and helpful, list. Unfortunately, no, I do not have any of those installed nor do I use them. I have also run my malware/spyware scanner just now with no hits.
So, I did a little troubleshooting. If I remove the stored auth key, then click start, and enter nothing in the key field the text status box says "Cannot start Pokefarmer. Please insert your Auth Key." If I click start, and enter anything in the key field - even a simple letter a - it crashes as before. I ran a packet capture and started the app. When I trigger the crash, I see a TCP handshake, then an SSL handshake, all to an IP with no PTR record associated. Then, my computer posts some data, the remote IP ACKs it, and PokeFarmer crashes. That's it.
