I have been considering making a raid heal bot. This would be specifically for things like ICC rep farming or when you need to AFK during trash. Has anyone one else done this? How much harder would this be than the normal party healing? I was thinking of just faction healing, but I need it to be reactive enough to be effective. Maybe have a priority list, and then move to a faction based internal list based on %HP. Let me know your thoughts.
The main problem is that you have to focus on special mechanics of the boss fight. If the boss is going to land a big punch on someone and you know that he will do that, you can prepare a large critical heal for that person. The fight mechanics are the big problem i see with raidhealing classes. Trash can also be evil, think about the glacial spikes and the interrupting shout in icc. Movement is needed and spamming heals can silence you early
That's the point of raid healing theres going to be other raiders in there with you, most importantly if you have a druid for example your job will most likely be raid heals they usually put a priest or a paladin on tanks. These are my thoughts anyways, I've used gotwood successfully in a raid and a few ICC farming rep runs so it should be able to handle raid healing just fine. -TheUltimateParadox
I know that scribbles, i just want to show scepticism . I wasnt sure if such a plugin is really a good idea , because of its limited usefulness
Actually, my heal bot was third on the healing done through 25 man raid. And when running normal heroics it's better than some idiots out there who claim to be healers. But in all honesty, there are some things it is unable to do. Such as reacting to an event or determining who is likely to get aggro next and healing appropriately.
If HB could interface with Deadly Boss Mods, then it would do OK. But the CC would be so damn complicated that it would blow up.
