Today I was excited to receive my SSD in the post, on which I have installed Windows 8.1 build 9600 with all updates. After a fresh install of HB I am getting the following error although having the most recent version of .NET as you can see.

After a bit of google investigation it seems the problem is with detection of the current version from the registry files. I have tried numerous fixes to no avail. Although I'm sure this is a Windows/.NET issue I was hoping someone here had experieced this and managed to find a fix.

I'm not sure if it was 8.1 or 8 I had installed initially, if the problem is purely down to my windows version then I will revert back to 8.

      Any help appriciated,
      Thanks in advance.
(log not created as HB not able to open)

after wizard installation is done, run windows update. And install all updates for .net & c++
