Cleaning WOW Folder Hi guys and gals I think I am going to try and play the hand by hand for a while until the smoke of all this HB vs Blizzard clears up a bit or just goes completely dark My question to all the computer/programmer experts in here ... what folders do I need to delete from my wow folder; if any , to make sure there is no trace of the Bot at all? many thanks for all your helpful replies PS: To Bossland and co. I wish you the best of luck, there is some of us here who appreciate what you do and will miss playing without the bot. I really hope you can fix things. cheers Tekken
The bot doesn't mess with your wow install, you can simply not run the bot as they aren't scanning you hard drive. If you really must, you can uninstall honorbuddy from the control panel (if you used the installer), then delete the folder where it was installed to (check that on the shortcut properties first). If blizzard wanted to break a bunch of laws they could probably still tell you once had it installed using basic forensics, but they don't care as long as its not running attached to the game.
just don't have honorbuddy running on the account and you're fine. obviously delete the program so you can't accidentally inject, and if you want clean settings delete your WTF folder, but it's the injection detection (using the bot for any length of time), and server side code (bot behaviour detection through server queries) that causes the automated ban waves we just saw, not what's on your hard drive.
