Game giant Blizzard Entertainment has applied total closing of BossLand, developer of several cheating programs and hacker methods for games.

Blizzard requires at least $ 200 per case of copyright infringement and argues that BossLand has sold at least 42,818 copies of his hacking tools in the US. Together corresponds to an amount of over 70 million.

Blizzard accused BossLand for several copyright infringement, unfair competition and violation of the anti circumvention of the DMCA. According to the game developer has cheating and bots inflicted damage in the form of millions of dollars in lost sales because they destroy games for legitimate players.

      Refuse to answer
BossLand have tried to get the case dismissed, but has not succeeded. Since then there has been silence from the German company that also has not answered inquiries after receiving a deadline of 24 hours.

Sorry for the bad google translate.

Sooooooo? whats up BossLand, is it 24 hours to close shop or?

Judgement happens on april 10, so nothing will happen until then. Even then it might just get banned from buying it in US.

Yes. But I expect him to cut and run soon.

Another question, if the lifetime key fiasco was to generate revenue to fight the lawsuit, why does the article seem to indicate that the fighting is over and he is merely attempting to avoid paying out?

It suggests to me that this was in fact a cash grab and he intends to cut and run. But we will see what he says. Just between us, I expect the equivalent of coming in to the office to find a 'Closed Forever sign on the door.

I don't think it is a cut and run although the failure to respond worries me a bit. It could be that his lawyers fucked up, that does happen. It would make sense to try to get money to take it to the Euro Court which is > German Court. I wouldn't say I am a fan of Bossland at any level, but I do not perceive him to be a thief.

You have probably have a little more contact than I have, so your judgment holds value for me. From the perspective of a mere single license holder who used his service for leveling, my point of view doesn't view his actions in a very positive light.

I 100% understand where you are coming from. It makes sense for him to raise the cash to try to fight it. Lawyers at this point will cost less than the 8.5M he could be on the hook for. I also know there are other jurisdictions that he needs to fight to keep the doors open. If they get an injunction in the states, he is screwed as that is where a majority of his customers are, or at least were when I ran metrics in my plugins. He is doing what he is doing out of the need to keep up the fight so they dont take his house, car, etc.

I said months ago when this all started heating up and Bossland started alienating their user base that they should just respectfully close their doors and preserve their reputation for use in the future, perhaps with a different game. They've just been bleeding money away pointlessly since, but nooo, let's not be smart, lets just be a business, even if we sink.

To be fair. If I was bossland and just figured out that I might lose everything including my house and car... I would be drunk as fuck making incoherent posts on the forums too! All kidding aside. We might lose a bot, but he might be losing everything. That is a bit rough to take. I feel for him on that level.
